Kapow Comic Convention

21 May

Myself and some fellow geeks decided to do our regular Saturday afternoon comic fix at Kapow last weekend, and I have to say of all the comic conventions I’ve been to this was by far the best!

Kapow was held at the Business Design Centre just by Angel tube, it was a spectacular setting for the array of comic stalls, memorabilia stalls, signing areas and a wrestling ring!

They hosted a number of talks from some high end names including Jonathan Ross, Nick Frost, Frankie Boyle, Joe Quesada (the Cheif Creative Officer at Marvel), Jimmy Carr, Warren Ellis (a verrrrrry experience comic writer), Mark Millar (writer of Kick Ass) and so many more….

As usual there were the regular comic fancy dress fantatics some of which really stole the show just walking around having photos with guests. And my all time favourite from the event, the wrestling ring provided by Lucha Britannia!

All in all it was all extremely well organised, there was heaps to do and lots of look at and keep us entertained. Only minor issue was that all the speakers were so high profile that you had to start queuing 3 hours before they started to get a spot. But nonetheless we milled around, chatted and I spent my life savings on comics…. as usual… x
