The Mayhew Animal Home Open Day Street Party!

16 Jul

The Mayhew Animal Home in Kensal Rise/Kensal Green, North West London is an exceptionally busy animal welfare facility, offering homes and care to thousands of dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals that have been subject to neglect or cruelty. They also run a free or low cost Community Veterinary Clinic, offering help to the local community for their injured or sick animals.

Overall, The Mayhew Animal Home is an amazingly noble facility that is entirely funded by public donations. It costs an astounding £3,400 a day to run and relies on volunteer time of over 1,000 hours per month, so as you can imagine they are constantly active promoting the facility, helping the community and conducting fundraising programmes to support the facility.

This Sunday 21st July, Mayhew Animal Home will be hosting their annual open day in the form of a street party. The event is focused on raising funds to support the facility by closing off the road outside the centre and hosting a variety of different stalls, lively entertainment and activities!

Activities include a ‘happily homed’ parade, where you can meet the facilities past residents and their new loving families, raffles & games (and fabulous prizes!), face painting, life-size bowling, a bouncy castle, live music, food (including a BBQ!), drinks, a photo booth, and information and advice about pet behaviour, as well as lots of information about the Mayhew Animal Home and their work all over the world!

The event will be at The Mayhew Animal Home, Trenmar Gardens, Kensal Green, London NW10 6BJ, from 12pm – 5pm this Sunday 21st July. It costs £3 (£2 concessions) to enter and all proceeds go to Mayhew Animal Home.

It’s going to be a great day and it’s all for a great cause! See you there 🙂
